The Solstice and Awakening
It can feel isolating when other people seem to be okay with the things that you can no longer tolerate.
Especially when you used to be okay with these things yourself. But part of you has woken up. And that same part of them is still asleep. And that’s okay. But if your soul is rejecting it - it’s not for you. Let go of this past version of yourself and surrender to your evolution, even if your mind disagrees. Especially if your mind disagrees. Tune into your heart, step into the void and trust the process relentlessly.
It is natural to feel isolated because of the things you do or don't want to do. Especially when comparing yourself to previous versions of yourself, or to people around you, who are doing things you once enjoyed or tolerated, but can no longer engage in. As you truly allow yourself to feel it, it can intensify. The sensitivity in your body can become overwhelming; physically rejecting certain people, places, environments, mindsets, activities and ways of doing things.
This heightened sensitivity is challenging because it makes you question who you are and even your identity. However, this is actually an awakening and an evolution. This sensitivity is a gift because it shows you where not to go. Sometimes knowing what you don't want helps you to discover what you do want. It is a process of elimination.
So place your energy where it feels good, and never judge yourself for where you are. Or others for where they are. You are in different seasons. Just because you have awareness about something, doesn't mean you're better than another person, or possess something that they don't. Likewise, if you feel ‘behind’ or less than someone else, know that you are comparing yourself at one very small moment in time. What is true today may not be true tomorrow, and certainly not throughout the lifetime.
Today is particularly significant because it's the summer solstice in the northern hemisphere and the winter solstice in the southern hemisphere. Day time and night time. Hot and cold. Yin and yang. It is a balance and neither is better than the other. In six months, we reverse - simply moving with the cycles of nature.
Similarly, it's perfectly normal for us to have cycles and rhythms - to have light in certain areas of our life and darkness in others. It is not necessary or possible to have all pillars firing at once - whether that be family, friendships, intimate relationships, health, career, home, finances, education, travel, or anything else that matters to you.
Today’s solstice reminds us that some parts can be in the dark while others can be in the light. Some can be awake and others asleep.
Make the most of the solstice energies today by reflecting and journaling about the light and dark in your life. Pick 3 that resonate:
What makes me feel light?
Where am I carrying dead weight?
What would it feel like to let it go?
How is my darkness showing up?
What shadows am I avoiding facing in myself?
What might the darkness be leading me away from or toward?
What life ‘pillars’ matter the most to me, and how can I uphold them throughout every season?
Happy solstice and with love,
Anna
